Stephanie

The book in Stephanie's hands is 'The Hare With The Amber Eyes' by Edmund De Waal.  Weird that.  All that wisdom about generational trauma and loss sat right there in Stephanie's lap and we were too busy taking pictures in the sun to consider actually reading it.  But maybe that's the point.  The hard Netsuke are the patient, multi-generational observers without any real skin in the game.  Whilst we fragile humans should maybe grab the sunny days and all that they sometimes offer whilst we can.  Not to do so is often a mistake driven by fear.   The Netsuke are watching!   So, I try to make my journal an interesting read for those into whose laps it will one day fall.  Things don't always fall out the way I intended and often not the reason that people might think.  People believe most readily that which reinforces their own feelings of self worth.  Rarely do they dig deeper.  But what I do know is when I go forth with a camera with courage the story is rarely a boring one.
