After The Shoot - Limited To Three Pieces

This image of Alex drinking a coke is the classic example of how Richard works.  A careful process twinned with instinctive opportunism.  It was shot on Fuji Acros Neopan Emulsion using a 1960s Bronica S2A camera and a complex lighting arrangement.  All this was part of Richard's careful and measured approach.  But the fact that the image exists at all is down to opportunism.  Richard first saw Alex when she served him a coffee in a Starbucks. 

"I thought she was so beautiful that I just had to photograph her.  But how?  Asking young women to model for you in a coffee shop is a nerve wracking thing to do but if I didn't do it I knew the art would never exist.  So I manned up and asked and as you can see I was not wrong in my initial assessment."
